What’s great about this hotel is definitely its location. Kensington Park is right next door, and having Whole Foods and M&S nearby is very convenient.
The building itself isn’t modern or new, but the rooms are clean and well maintained. The housekeeping team does an excellent job — big applause to them!
However, the front desk service did not meet five-star standards. The staff were expressionless, and we never saw a smile during our stay. Upon arrival, they couldn’t find my reservation by name, and I had to provide the booking number. I had booked two separate rooms for myself and a friend, and requested that they be on the same floor, but this wasn’t initially arranged. After we pointed it out, they managed to move my room to the same floor, which we appreciated.
Both restaurants offered an appealing menu, and the Kensington Garden view from Min Jiang was simply superb.
At checkout, we weren’t given receipts automatically and had to ask for them. It turned out the car hire fee was incorrect, and without the receipt, we wouldn’t have caught the mistake. It was puzzling that the receptionist didn’t provide the receipt in the first place.
