READ BEFORE BOOKING
The location or hotel itself was nice, wish we’d booked a river view room though as the view from balcony/room wasn’t great.
Had a few issues:
- Had to call reception 3 times and go down twice to ask for luggage to be brought up post-check in - took an hour just for this and we needed to get ready!
- Staff came to try and decorate room for Valentine’s Day AFTER we checked in which was super awkward and a shame
- TV in room kept turning off randomly
- burning hot water only from one point on Saturday from bathroom taps/showers which took HOURS for the hotel to sort and we ended up missing our Valentine’s Day dinner reservation
- PARKING: please note it’s £85 per night for hotel (limited) parking. We were unaware of this as it’s not on Expedia page. Would have taken train if we had known
- Spa facilities: such a shame that apart from the pool there were no shared-gender spa facilities e.g. steam room/sauna
We did mention these issues/concerns to management who tried to rectify by offering complimentary breakfast - which was actually very nice!
Maybe we were just a bit unlucky.
Just a shame for the price you pay really - wouldn’t call it a 5*! Doesn’t feel luxurious at all - have been to many luxury hotels in London/globally in my lifetime!
