"The Grandbell Hotel Shinjuku is a good, safe, and modern hotel, but it sits right on the edge of Kabukichō, which is Japan’s largest nightlife entertainment district. It’s a mix of tourists, bars, neon lights, nightclubs, promoters, hostesses, and love hotels. It’s not unsafe, but it definitely has a nighttime atmosphere that feels very different from the rest of Tokyo. Despite how Kabukichō looks: • There is no violence • There is no crime targeting tourists • No one is going to bother you • There is no physical danger walking at night • Police patrol the area constantly It is not a dangerous neighborhood. The Grandbell is located in a kind of “middle zone”: • About 3–5 minutes from the quiet Shinjuku Gyoen side • About 3–5 minutes from the brighter, busier Kabukichō area You will not see explicit behavior, harassment, danger, or anything aggressive. Japan is extremely strict about public conduct."
