The room was clean and well lit with plenty of storage space for a short stay, clean towels, shower and bed sheets were crisp white. Close to bus stops and parking at the property ample. "If you have a meeting at the Presidio, the location is hard to beat. You can roll out of bed and practically be there. Like many hotels on Lombard, this Travelodge is pretty basic. If you are looking for a clean room with a decent shower, you should be pleased. The one aspect of the room that I give a terrible rating to is the wi-fi system. It sucks. "This is a very old, historic hotel so I came to it with some skepticism. I had some family visiting from the East Coast and wanted to spend a few nights in San Francisco and usually stay in the large chain hotels. I wanted to do something out of the ordinary and this hotel looked very cool. I noticed it was built in 1908 and started to wonder about amenities and overall upkeep. "This is a charming, older hotel in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood (at least that’s what Google maps calls it). Spotlessly clean and very comfy. Small kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, sink and utensils. Plus a nice neighborhood market next door. And the almost new windows open for fresh air, although it’s San Francisco, so probably a little chilly most days. Great for those on a budget. Front desk folks are very helpful. Loved it…and the two elevators are a step back in time!"

"The employees there were exceptional. Helpful, friendly, attentive. We were impressed. Our return trip to the property wasn’t quite as good because the room faces the street and was very noisy. We were unable to sleep . (We recognize that we were being offered a “choice room”, room 401, but we would have preferred the 2 queen beds we requested rather than the king (2 sisters traveling together). Perhaps they could ask for preferences. Overall, very happy with the Julian."
