Our stay was great. Clean rooms & welcoming environment. The location was perfect, within walking distance to most touristy spots. The best part was the buffet breakfast, lots of food options & the wait time was not too bad. The only thing we didn’t like were the homeless people wandering around the hotel & in the fire pit seating area outside.

Checking in was a breeze. Doing the online check-in makes the process go smooth. The staff were helpful and welcoming from beginning to end. Starting the day off with the delicious breakfast buffet is amazing. This is my second stay at a RIU hotel. Already planning for my third.

My family and I have stayed in various hotels in San Francisco, but this was our first time staying at Hotel Riu. We had never heard of it- but I’m so glad we took a chance. The hotel is perfectly located, gorgeous inside, and the free breakfast was spectacular. It felt like it should’ve been double the price! Great value!

I will always remember this hotel for their breakfast and the staff that works so hard at this buffet. Huge lineups but never waited longer than, at the most, 10 minutes! Fantastic buffet! And staff was incredible, everything was always cleaned up right away! We had to stay longer because of an airline strike and hotel staff just told me to book through Expedia, no help offered!

Average at best. Rooms are small and dated. The breakfast buffet was ok, not many vegetarian options. Just a fancy continental breakfast in my opinion. The staff wasn’t friendly at all. I would not stay here again.

Great spot! The location is great, walkable to fisherman's wharf and other spots. The room was great, the breakfast is really good although the line can be long, and the amenities are great. Nice gym, bar, take-away food, but would have liked more meal options for dinner.

This is clearly a busy hotel. Do not get a room near the gym in the second building. At 0550 the gym was hopping and the treadmill pounding sound was bananas. Free breakfast is good but be prepared to stand in a long line to get it. Clean and very nice staff. Park across the street. Half the price.

My two negatives: housekeeping took my towels and wash cloths but didn’t replace them. I had to use a hand towel as a wash cloth. I had a spare towel so I wasn’t stranded. Their included breakfast is quite good but crowded, chaotic and laid out poorly. They also oversaw every patron’s movements so you couldn’t even take a cup of coffee out of the dining room. Okay three negatives - every freaking table demanded that you not bring outside food or drink into the common areas. Hate to break it to you but you’re within walking distance of great dining options and none of them are inside the hotel. There are NO dining options in the hotel other than a premade salad and sandwich cubby that frankly was not very good. If I want to pick up a nice snack and eat it near my room enjoying the fresh air and sunshine that should be my prerogative at that price of a hotel. It was clean and convenient and that is why they didn’t get a lower rating. Compliments to the bell captain who was wonderful though.
