"The Hilton Beachfront Resort was a very large and older resort that lacked luster. The hotel facilities were outdated and not well maintained. The best examples were the gates to enter the pool area were key fob operated but did not work. The hotel hallways had wall patches throughout many buildings. In the Camilia building where we stayed all three ice machines did not work. The gym was very outdated and not maintained very well. The pool area was not monitored by staff where it seemed...

"First time stay. The property is newly renovated in the old Santa Barbara Spanish style, Our room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed coffee and a bite to eat for breakfast. We loved the yoghurt with chia seeds and blueberries. The espresso was delicious. The server was fun to talk to and made our experience memorable. High class, high quality. Dog friendly."

Bathroom was modern and in good shape. Ammenities in the room were a flat screen TV that offered a very minimal menue of channels with very little entertainment included, a cube fridge. "The Upham was everything previous reviewers had said.... Very positive. This hotel is a gem and reasonable. Spacious room, manicured grounds, cozy community rooms to have wine or the great selection of pastries and coffee in the morning. Easy to walk to State street for shopping, dining, etc. I was there only 1 night and the only glitch was that the tv had no sound when turned on. The lovely Front Desk woman could not fix the problem but gave it a good try. Not a big deal this short trip. ...
