Vineyards and strawberry fields surround this Central Coast town where Santa Maria-style barbecue draws serious food lovers. Hike the nearby dunes at Guadalupe Beach in the morning when local joggers have it mostly to themselves.
Santa Maria had som e of the best dining i've had in quite some time. Very great restaurants, with some of the best authentic Hispanic meals. It's also a bonus that Santa Maria is near popular coastal beaches like, Pismo, and Avila Beach.

Lots to do especially if you want to experience wine country. Dining options in Santa Maria are fair but plentiful in the immediate area. Charming place to stay.

Lots or restaurant choices. From casual chain restaurants to local family owned. Also, an abundance of food trucks if that is your jam.

I liked how everything was near and we had a big selection on shopping and dinning. Over all I would see myself coming back to Santa Maria.

We have stayed in Santa Maria before, either on our way southward or coming back up to the Sacramento area. While it's not the closest to our destination, the hotel prices are MUCH more affordable than they are further south, so that is a big draw.

Had not been there in many years. Was a time to catch up and see the sights. Took back roads to see the fields. Went to see the Pacific in many different locations. Ate at a lot of places near the Pacific. Met a lot of friendly people.

Perhaps I could have done more planning, but Santa Maria is a hour from every beach. My bad for not doing more research, but in the end, we visited every beach between Morro and Santa Barbara.

This is one of the coolest, prettiest little cities I've visited in a long time. Wish I could've stayed longer and I look forward to returning in a few months.

We stay here every time we visit family. Don't look very much at Santa Maria but am impressed with what I see.
"I love the kitchen, very clean rooms, and the staff is nice. The only thing that was kind of annoying is being on the street side, we can hear cars. Also the AC is kinda loud but it tones out the cars, lol!! So if you’re not sensitive to some noise, it’s perfectly fine. "
"Hotel was excellent! Ocean view was breathtaking. Beautiful walk to the pier. Staff was friendly and super accommodating letting us check in early and they gave my husband a bottle of wine for his 60th birthday! Definitely staying there again! "
"This was a low key and inexpensive way to spend the night in Pismo. If you know Pismo, you will be staying just North of the Cinnamon Roll shop, so downtown is still in a walkable distance. As for beach access. down the street, where you will find a public bathroom, shower, and stairs onto the beach, super easy with the little ones. I typically don't look for a hotel with continental breakfast but they had a simple one, we grabbed fruit, coffee, and hot chocolate each day we were there. We had gotten there a bit before check in (4pm, YIKES) and we got our room by 1!. Front desk staff, you rocked. Housekeepers you rocked more! Their pool and spa was fun, they supplied towels for that too. We stayed in room on 3rd floor, we had a small balcony with a slight view.. 2 queens, which were comfortable, Room was simple with refrigerator and micro wave. We could hear our neighbors when they came in at midnight, but I blame them and not the hotel. Will we stay their again? Yes. Happy travels."
