"We’ve been to 3 separate RIU locations and this was by far our least favorite. However, I think this is a case of you get what you pay for and realizing this is more of a younger demographic party resort. The rooms are very basic and outdated. The themed restaurants are only open for dinner whereas at other RIUs they are open for lunch as well. Otherwise you are stuck with the buffet, which was lacking more costly items like seafood. I really missed the piles of shrimp, mussels, crab, etc that...

"We stayed 7 days / 6 nights at AVA Resort Cancun. Overall, the stay was okay, but we would not return. The resort felt too crowded for our preference—you need to enjoy large, busy, high-traffic environments to fully appreciate it. Hotel was very clean and nice/new. There were several downsides. The pools and some activities like volleyball on the beach closed quite early. Finding a sun lounger was difficult unless you paid extra to upgrade, and even then, reserving a Bali bed required walking...

"Great location, fun and friendly staff, room was awesome. Restaurants were all good. Family-friendly resort with lots of kid activities. Would be great if there was an adult-only pool or an additional pool as it got a bit crowded at times. "

The access to their parks is a nice touch, but the resort itself is so nice you honestly don’t even need to leave. "

"Clean was very clean. Staff need to respect their job; they are not at home. The outdoor pool is fine Breakfast was terrible, something happened there, diarrhea every day after the breakfast, don't go to the buffet. Steak house, seriously? We are never back at any RIU Hotel "
