"The building is beautiful and remodeled with lots of interesting touches. However, this hotel is by no means family friendly. I was traveling with my 12 year old son. The lobby isn’t really a lobby but a neighboring restaurant that may or may not be open at advertised times. The pool is part of a rooftop bar that ‘allows’ hotel guests under 21 only from noon to 7. "We came to SD for our daughter’s graduation and commissioning. We had the ocean view villa. Our room was spacious and had an excellent view of the bay. Staff was always pleasant and helpful with requests. The only negative was the room had a musty smell and we were so busy I didn’t think to mention until last day. The staff quickly tried to remedy the smell . The last day the bathroom toilet was leaking sewer smells as the toilet was loose and rocked. That was the camel that broke the camels...
