"The location was perfect! Couldn’t have wanted anything better. The reason I chose this place is because it was centrally located and I didn’t want to stay at the hotel every day, I wanted to explore. Yet the couple days I needed some downtime I was disappointed in the pool/beach area and definitely with the food and lack of restaurant choices at it. Really there is only three places you can eat at this hotel. On another note, we stayed in a room that had a pretend window. So there was no natural sunlight at all. The little time we spent in the room was pretty dim. A pretty and spacious room yet you could never get enough lighting in it when asked to upgrade they didn’t have any availability. Overall, this was a great centrally located facility. With all kinds of things to do around it though know if you’re wanting to relax and stay at the hotel for any length of time, you will get bored very quickly as the food, drink drinks, and other amenities are just limited "

"Great internet. Staff very helpful and accomdating, loved the bartenders at the pool made the best drinks. Property is beautiful. Spa is also nice and only $200 for a couples massage but the Jacuzzi on the mens side didnt work so that wasnt the best. Loved the steam room, and sauna and they give you wine to drink. Very relaxing. Food from Luna was amazing everytime. I prefer the black bean over the red bean but it was good. I got to see the Santo Domingo Parade that happened right outside of the hotel. It was one of the most beautiful eevnts to see. Location of the hotel isnt the best as it will require you to walk. My friend lived there and helped me navigate but he also got harrassed by the police. This was scary, I do not recommend going to far from the hotel unless you can speak the language. Its right across from the ocean and the nearest beach is in boca chica 30 mins away so if you want the water you will have to travel but overall I would stay here again. I loved the hotel. "

"Staff were great…closet has an awful smell, we never used it…size of the pillows were small and uncomfortable. Outdoor pools were ok but used next door hotel’s infinity pool and jacuzzi. It’s fun to watch the cruise ships when they are leaving."

"We stayed at the Reef for 6 nights. Overall, we had a good week. Check in wasn’t as smooth as we would have liked. The room wasn’t ready until after 4:30 and our bags had been taken to storage before we realized it would be several hours before a room was ready. The staff were very accommodating and gave us a small upgrade and a small credit for the inconvenience. The resort property is very large. Besides our own room, the resort is also very loud - the pools, the beach, the restaurants, even walking the paths - there is noise or loud music playing everywhere. The only peaceful spot was areas of the beach away from the resort chairs. Beach/pool chairs were often all reserved by 9:30am - get up early if you want to claim your spot. Nothing was ever removed from what we could see even though signs are posted to that effect. The restaurants ranged from amazing to poor. You get what you pay for, but be prepared to pay $$$$ to enjoy a great meal. Our favourites were Amber followed by Carmine’s. I would not recommend Murray’s at all. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk, cleaning staff, pool/beach staff and the restaurants. The only real complaint I have would be about the guests themselves. The amount of garbage that was left behind on the beach or at the pools was disappointing. If you have young kids, like water parks and a Vegas type atmosphere, you will enjoy this resort."
