"A really good welcome and a free car park (once reg entered onto system at Reception). The double room was large and clean. As this is a heritage building, there is an impressively sloping - and creaking/squeaking - floor. Luckily, I couldn’t hear much from the function room below, and nothing from the bar. But a lot of noise from other room’s plumbing and doors slamming can be heard in the room. Plus there is light from under the main room door so it may not be fire-safe. I’d recommend...

"Only two reasons for not getting 5 stars; no plug sockets by the bed… why? Had to charge my phone across the room. They had USB sockets but not all devises use USB! The second reason is the shuttle is £4 each way… I think that’s too much. Apart from these things though, great hotel. It’s clean and modern. The check-in was quick and efficient and the staff friendly and helpful. "

"The room is a nice size, clean, but very very dated, the shower was in the bath and not very good. The hotel itself is located not far from Stansted airport and it's the only reason I would consider booking again. The parking at the hotel is very poor and pretty much a free for all but the car park next door is free between 6pm to 8am with proper painted bays where people park rather than just abandon their cars. All in all it was an ok choice of a place to stay for an early flight but I doubt...

"Really modest hotel, my teenage daughter described it as being cosy. The hotel was very clean, the double room was very large. Closet space was adequate. Tea and biscuits were provided in the room. Breakfast was freshly cooked full English, had choices of cereal and different teas. Was most pleased as my fav peppermint was on offer...never is at other hotels. It was in a very quiet area but with restaurant/takeout within a 1 minute walk, there is a Chinese opposite, Indian restaurant adjacent...

"Check-in was fine, but the leisure facilities were a letdown. The pool was cold, the jacuzzi didn’t work, and the steam room was out of order. Lockers were unreliable and needed a £1 coin, which is odd for a card-only facility. The saunas are segregated and located in the changing rooms, which isn’t ideal for a couples stay. The male sauna also smelled strongly of urinals. We left almost immediately. At least we weren’t charged. We booked an Executive room, but it didn’t feel like one. The...
