"Our stay at the hotel was great. The room was lovely and clean. The weather was very warm when we stayed and there was a fan already in the room for us to use which was much appreciated. The reception staff were lovely and helpful when we checked in. We ate in the restaurant and had a take away pizza from the bar. The food was lovely and service was good. "A tastefully developed pub with ample rooms, stylish appearance and appealing atmosphere. Dinner was a little disappointing (had the buttermilk chicken burger) which felt as if it had been pre-prepared/defrosted and reheated. May have just been an unlucky experience as generally the food reviews are very good and the breakfast was truly excellent and very fresh. Husband's burger was good. Staff very pleasant. We had a waterside suite which looked over the cricket pitch at the back so was quiet. Used it as a base to start the Thames Path walk at its source near Kemble."

"The location is fantastic being on the High Street in a central location and nicely set back from the hoards of tourists. The staff are lovely and engaging. Lunch and evening meals were beautifully cooked but breakfast at ยฃ21.50 per head was not great, being over cooked and one of the most expensive Iโ€™ve had, probably ever. On the subject of price, whilst the evening meal was lovely, ยฃ40+ each for a Goan Fish Curry and a Ribeye Steak was excessive being on or above the price of a good London restaurant."
