"Great room for a night before cruising, shuttle driver was very helpful"

"The hotel needed some work on the outside. The inside had been refurbished for the upcoming Fifa games. The room was cozy and bright with the most comfortable bed my husband & I have ever slept in. The room was very clean, but modest. We also had a view of the Vancouver skyline from our 3rd floor window. Hondra, the manager, was very gracious and helpful upon our arrival and throughout our 4 day stay. She was very available, though not always onsite. We had privacy and quiet. The hotel is located in the Vancouver suburb of Collingswood. It has a lowkey vibe which was wonderful to return to after a busy day in the dynamic high energy city. If you are looking for a good budget hotel this is the one."

Keefer House

"The Keefer hotel was a unique experience in that there is no on-site front desk; all the communication with staff occurs remotely. That being said, there did appear to be a security guard available 24/7 and housecleaning was present in the mornings. The one-bedroom apartment in which we stayed was very clean and new, and I liked that we had a four-person dining room table. The only frustration was that the stovetop was pretty impossible to figure out without directions. I tried to heat water in the teakettle and could not get the burner turned on; I finally had to give up and heat my water in the microwave. The digital display on the oven was off by one hour, probably due to daylight savings time and we couldn't figure out how to update its time, either. But those were minor annoyances overall. We would definitely consider staying again, and we did like the proximity to the Chinese Garden, which we had come to see. It was literally around the corner."

"The staff at the Waldorf were amazing. They came out to the curb to help us with our bags. They even helped us bring the bags upstairs. The bed was very nice and the room was clean. The problem is that the hotel is right on a very busy highway. Our room #108 was right up against the street. It was so loud in there that we thought that the window must be open. It wasn’t. There was a constant barrage of very loud racing cars, engines, tires screeching and sirens. It was horrible. It’s a shame that they can’t put in some kind of soundproof wall and window in there. Also, it’s not exactly in a safe area. The taxi driver told us not to walk around the area. We would not recommend it."
