"Our stay was overall excellent. The property was clean and the staff were very responsive. The only flaws that we found were that our toilet did not work too well as the lever was broken and required us to fix it a couple times. The part we absolutely did not like was one of the time share salesmen who made us feel uncomfortable; he wanted us to visit a neighboring property and pushed us to commit. Once we changed our mind, you could tell he was mad every time we walked by him making our trip uncomfortable when running into him."

"Staff was friendly, clean room, beautiful ocean view. Hotel located 15 mins from airport and on the beach. The two buffets were really good, nice selection of food. We were surprised that we had to ask for guacamole. Out of the three restaurants we enjoyed the Asian one the best. People put towels on lounge chairs early am to reserve and we had a daily hunt for lounge chairs. This shouldn’t be allowed. Beach was nice but water was rough. Lounge bar closed at 11Pm and had no ambiance. Only option to have drinks later than 11 pm was a five minute walk over to the sister resort’s sports bar/disco that was open until 1 am. Pathway to sister resort kinda sketchy. No outdoor bar at night after pool bar closed, we were disappointed that we had to have drinks inside and the bar was closed at 1 am."

"We stayed at AVA Resort Cancun and unfortunately our experience was disappointing, which is why I’m giving it 2 stars. The restaurant food quality was very poor — about 2/5. Many meals lacked flavor and consistency, which was surprising for a resort marketed as luxury. Our trip also started off difficult because our daughter had a high fever (104°F) during the first couple of days. At one point she asked for an apple, so we called room service and explained the situation. Even after telling them she was sick, it took over an hour to receive a single apple. We were also approached about attending a sales presentation to buy into the resort membership. We initially declined, but later agreed after being offered incentives like a free cabana, massages, and discounts on activities. However, the process was very pressured and involved being passed between multiple staff members for most of the morning. Even after explaining our daughter was sick and saying no several times, they kept pushing and suggested service would be better if we purchased the membership. Another concerning moment was finding a spider in a premade salad. When we told a staff member, she simply placed the salad back in the fridge without apologizing. The kids club is also limited, only allowing children 4+ and offering few options for younger kids at inconvenient times. The property is beautiful, but the service and food quality did not meet five-star expectations. Unfortunately, we would not return."

"We had a room on the bottom level looking over the sea ans was absolutely beautiful to sit on the porch and drink coffee in the morning. All staff are so helpful and kind."

"Nicely located in the Hotel area, nice beach, nice pool, close to a convenience store, restaurants. "

"Nice enough place, but not easy to walk to anything other than the lagoon. Tough to eat as there is no restaurant onsite, only a small snack place on rooftop in the afternoon. Two rooftop pools are nice. The views of the water from the room and balcony are awesome. Offer some shuttle one-way service to beaches and shopping and to the airport. 15 mins to the airport, which is a plus if looking for a stay before leaving. Basic breakfast with lots of mexican dishes but not international dishes for expats. "
