"This is such a lovely hotel, we had a twin room on the top floor. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lot of charm. We had breakfast twice and there is plenty to choose from the menu. We also had an evening meal, the prawn cocktail was delicious and they are not shy on the prawns it seemed endless and very fulfilling,followed by salmon and potatoes that was cooked perfectly. The staff were so nice and helpful and nothing was to much .The property itself is a 15 min walk from the train...

"The room was impeccable, with lovely thoughtful touches such as a radio and bath robes. The products in the bathroom were an extremely high quality. Comfy bed and perfect locations. The staff were so friendly too. Would highly reccomend. "

"Enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was warm and comfortable with an excellent view across to Clifford’s Tower. The hotel is within very easy walking distance to the town centre. At the moment lots of building work in this area but you are not far from the lovely streets and shopping in York."

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "
