"Cool. Modern clean. Lots of conveniences. Great location. Although grab and go + bar drinks were very expensive. Luckily everything was within a couple of minute walk including grocery stores. No in room fridge. No in room phone but everything else was great. Breakfast was great. Lots of options"

"Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"Is easy to miss as satnav takes you to the carpark behind so beware its on the main road, staff directed us into the hotel via a phone call and opened the gate to parking, there were about 3 spaces left which were a little tight but managed it ( we didn't realise if booked direct it's free, £10 booking through 3rd party site ) but after checking in with the lovely receptionist was told as it was a Saturday and no check in on the Sunday we could leave our car as long as we wanted rather than at...

"The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of York and easy to get to. The staff were lovely and were able to accommodate giving us a lower-level room, which was so helpful (especially when pregnant in a heatwave!). There were lots of options available in the mini bar as well as teas, coffees, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean - we will definitely return next time we come to York."

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and whenever we interacted with them. Our room was clean and in good condition. The outdoor beer garden was a great place to enjoy an afternoon drink, and family friendly for our five-year-old to join. The hotel was located a short distance from the Bootham Bar entrance to the city centre and conveniently located near other amenities."

"3/5 - A mixed stay at Malmaison York The rooftop bar was the highlight of our visit — stylish atmosphere, great views, and genuinely excellent staff who were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the reception experience fell short. We arrived with friends to check in, and despite two receptionists being available, we were ignored while a couple who arrived after us were served first. It set the wrong tone, and no information was offered about breakfast times or dining...

"The hotel its self was lovely but certain things let it down slightly like having no tea bags in the room , no food menu in the room or even a number to contact reception . These are minor as the hotel itself is lovely"
