"This is such a lovely hotel, we had a twin room on the top floor. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lot of charm. We had breakfast twice and there is plenty to choose from the menu. We also had an evening meal, the prawn cocktail was delicious and they are not shy on the prawns it seemed endless and very fulfilling,followed by salmon and potatoes that was cooked perfectly. The staff were so nice and helpful and nothing was to much .The property itself is a 15 min walk from the train...

"A very nice little flat 10 minutes walk away from the city centre. Lovely thick carpets. The main bedroom is very nice indeed. Comfortable bed. Effective fan provided which was a godsend during hot weather. Kids bedroom was nice too and they loved the bunk bed set up, which was solid. There is outdoor space however it is shared and a small shadowy courtyard. Doesn't look used at all. The flat is a funny layout. "Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"Clean, comfortable room and courteous staff. Not in the City centre but easy walking distance to the City centre and train station. Breakfast was basic but good. Good value for the money. Would go back again. "

"The hotel was well-situated in the centre of York. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. There were a few small cobwebs around the base of some of the room furniture and the shower room had a stale smell on arrival, which could be associated with the shower not being used, or if the water in the shower trap is siphoned out by water flow from other showers."

"This was the ideal room for a family city break. The staff were friendly and accommodating and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre, so we didn’t need to use the car at all for the duration of our stay."
