I really enjoyed my stay at Ashbourne House! The room was very comfortable and bright, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great too -- a lovely walk along the river away from the bustling city centre.

A real gem

Beautiful property and room. The lady who checked us in and showed us to our room was very friendly and told us how to get into town which is about a 15-20 minute walk. Our room was very clean and furnished to a high standard

Enjoyed my stay unfortunately it was very hot at night but a fan was provided in the room . I was made to feel welcome and the owner went out her way with additional comforts provided had sanitiser and sweets not to mention a nice clean room. I will be back again.

Last gasp reservation.

This was a real last minute booking, but what a winner. The guest house was wonderful. The room was very comfortable (didn't want get out of the bed). Such an individual look to each room. Made a nice change from the usual Travelodge/Premier Inn ordinariness. Did Didn't try the breakfast. Will rectify that next time. Very impressed. Highly recommend.

Fantastic couple of nights here, check in was easy, parking either straight out front or on the street around the corner. Bus stop just outside with an easy trip into town so we could have a drink with dinner and not worry about driving. Can touch on to the bus with a credit card. Breakfast was freshly prepared to order by the hosts and was excellent quality! Would stay again.

Lovely stay on the outskirts of York

Simple and straightforward. Lovely room, on the smaller side but adequate for one night. Modern amenities with standard bathroom. Lovely selection of hot drinks available. Ceiling fan which was very much needed on our stay. Very clean and very well presented. Happy to stay again. Parked on the street nearby and good 20 minute walk into centre.

Great Stay

I only stayed for one night, however Ashbourne House is beautifully maintained and my room was exquisite for the price. I stay in London hotels a lot and I wish I could afford somewhere like this when I'm there because it would cost a fortune. Will definitely stay again.

We booked Ashbourne House on the back of all the reviews and it did not disappoint. Absolutely fantastic stay. Spotlessly clean, powerful shower, the most comfortable bed, all the little extra touches and Fiona and Ricardo were the best and most helpful hosts. There is a bus stop right opposite and just 10 minute journey into town. Highly recommend and would definitely use again if returning to York.

Home from Home!!!!

I recommend ASHBOURNE HOUSE most highly. Location 10-15 minutes walk from centre of York. Environment, room temperature , cleanliness excellent. . Proprietors very warm and friendly. I am VERY satisfied with my stay at Ashbourne House.

We upgraded to the superior room as it had a fridge. Room has recently been renovated to an excellent standard. Ceiling fan was great as it was a hot weekend. Los of little nice touches you don't see at other places, walk into town is 20 mins direct on main rd or a leisurely 25/30 mins along river. Will definitely stay again

Ricardo and Fiona are the consumate hosts. Checked us in quickly even though we arrived late. Made us feel completely at home. The property is very well kept. The rooms are lovely. Good light. Fresh. Very comfortable. It has easy access to the sites in York. This is where you should stay in York!

For a 1 night stay it's great. Good location and staff very friendly. Unfortunately the room was too small when you have 2 large suit cases and 2 carry on bags. No where to put bags. Also no air conditioning which made room hot.

Wouldn't hesitate to return!

Fiona and Ricardo were very friendly and welcoming - upon arrival Fiona was kind enough to talk us through the best ways to get into town (which is only a 20 minute picturesque walk away along the river, or 5 mins on the bus which is very regular) and always served breakfast with a smile! The room was very comfy, clean and airy. We immediately decided to extend our stay for another night because we could tell we were going to enjoy our stay, and thankfully the room was available! The house is very well located, with bus stops close by and free parking on the adjacent road if there's no space left on the drive - with a couple of pubs down the road, the plough in particular had the best homemade chips ever, and delicious homemade pies. Thank you Fiona and Ricardo, we will certainly be back again!
