"Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"Booked The Lodgings for a birthday present for my partener. Jackeline on reception was perect and proffesional. The room was small but nice and had the flowers I had preordered and we could see the Minster through the fire escape door, we were in the "Belfry". I had booked what I thought would be a romanatic evening meal in the hotel only to find they were not using the dinning rooom and would have to eat in the bar downsatirs. "Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"When checking out our room was different, we are from Arizona and never used anything like this, we had to use the key card to turn on electricity to the room. The bed was comfortable and clean, air conditioner worked great and the shower was excellent. The staff was excellent and answered all my questions.The laundry room was ok, washed all the clothes well, but drying the clothes wasn't that good after an hour still had to let the clothes dry in our room.Kitchen was nice had a dishwasher and...

"Lovely hotel created from several historic buildings into a modern facility. Very pleasant reception and lounge area with bar. The rooms were clean and to a high standard, roomy and with a good shower room. There is a lot of interesting artwork throughout. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We booked two rooms. Room servicing is only on request, we asked our rooms to be made up each day, sadly our friends room was not properly made up on arrival and servicing of the rooms was a bit hit...

"We were passing through York after staying in Edinburgh and found the Impossible Motel. We only stayed for 1 night but the room was great with a really comfy bed and soft bedding. Great location and close to the shambles Q park for ease of parking which was really secure and easy to find. Staff welcoming, warm and friendly and a great ambience. We look forward to staying again when we're in York."
