"It was really unfortunate that there had been a heat wave which killed the aircon for a lot of rooms - mine included. So hot and uncomfortable without it but I realise that this is possibly not the norm for the hotel. Staff of course were powerless. Front of house staff (doorman) was a little rude to us on arrival which surprised me. Other staff were lovely. No water in room. No bathroom amenities other than a shower cap. "The rooms are small but carefully proportioned to fit in the shower and toilet. The bed is an unusual one that raises at one end to allow more elevated sleeping or sitting. "I had an enjoyable stay here. I loved that the location was a quiet, serene street but still just a short walk to a main strip/tube station (5-7 minute walk) in one direction and to the Portabella market area in the other direction (maybe a 15- 20 minute walk). Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was small but adequate. The balcony was inaccessible but I had a lovely view of the small park/garden area across the street. I’d stay again for a reasonably priced room in a quiet area."
