"We really loved this hotel. The room had a proper layout and size of a 4* hotel compared to all other hotels we stayed in Japan. The laundromat and public bath on the 2nd floor gave a home comfort feeling. The coffee and tea spot downstairs is very big and cozy, Distance from Kyoto station is 2-3 min by walk. We used trains and buses during our visit and all were within 3-4 min walk distance. The hotel staff is helpful and does their best to assist their guests. "

"This is a wonderful ryokan. The building, location and room are great. we got the room with an partial open air bath and it was excellent. The staff was professional, kind and helpful. We felt very welcome even as foreigners. I do wish that expedia would list the schedule for the dining options because the Ryokan restaurants are only open certain days and require reservation so we missed out on dinner. It's a bit of a long walk from the train station but not terrible. It should also be noted on the expedia page that they will pick you up but you have to schedule 48hrs in advance."

"This is a great affordable option in Kyoto. Steps away from the K line subway and two stops from Kyoto Station. It has an onsite onsen which was very clean and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are clean and comfortable as well. There are no English language options on TV. The breakfast buffet was OK, but very crowded right at opening. For the price, this is a terrific place to stay."
