"We cannot say enough good things about this place! We stayed there for one night before our cruise and one night after our cruise. The staff was super nice and accommodating, stored our luggage so we could explore the town. The restaurant was delicious and the rooms were spacious and clean. Taxis and Ubers are readily available and fThe hotel itself was walking distance to great restaurants and shopping and tours… we will not stay anywhere else when we return!"

"We couldn't fault the service, nothing was too much trouble. We had supper in the pub and the food was delicious, so much so that we couldn't manage a full breakfast the next day which was a pity. We will certainly be staying at the Montagu Arms again. The location was perfect"

"Beautiful harbour-side hotel with lovely views. Excellent spa. My only niggle is that the architect over-complicated the lighting system. Our room had 9 light switches (excluding the one for the bathroom) and it was impossible for us to turn off the dimmed light in the entrance hall area - no matter what switch combo we tried. My son and his gf had the same issue in their room. "

"Lovely hotel, with friendly helpful staff, lovely clean and attractive rooms and comfy bed. The only downside was no fridge in the room to keep our water and juice cold and as it was a very hot weekend it meant the bottles they supplied and supplies we took quickly got warm; although not sure where they would fit one in our room 🤔…."

"I stay in around 100 places each year for work and this was bad. Poor quality fittings and fixtures vey well used. No soap, shower door didn’t close, toilet on some kind of strange plinth. Laminate falling to bits. No Freeview or terrestrial tv, streaming only but WiFi is so bad it doesn’t work at peak times 2 mattresses on bed bottom one very grubby I think it’s a converted garage. May suit someone with low standards I ended up leaving after 2 nights stayed last night elsewhere "

"We had an overnight stay before boarding our ship the next day. Parking for me was great and complimentary but I do think there is a charge normally. At reception we were met and our cases were taken care of by the porters, receptionists x 3 were at hand for booking in. We had booked a standard room So I asked if we could upgrade and was given a superior room with balcony and views of the Solent and cheap as chips. There’s a small store nearby for some necessities, and more extensive shopping is just a 15-minute walk mostly through a park. We ate at least one meal there each day, and the food was very good. All in all, a very nice place. We would definitely stay there again."
