"Room was lovely and comfy. Very clean wth en-suite, shower with amenities, towels body/shower gel, conditioner, hand cream and soap. Comfy double bed, the room had a coffee machine, kettle, fan and hairdryer. 32 inch TV suitable for room size. Complimentary breakfast more of a continental style but not fully. Teas, coffees, cereals, fruit, small selection of juices and toaster and microwave. Host was on hand to make hot drinks and toast, very hospitable and friendly. Guest are welcome to help...

"Had a good 2 night stay at The Pavilion. Lovely character manor house kind of property. All staff (even though quite young) were friendly and efficient. Good location as could hop on a bus into the city. Parking (payable) at the hotel or park on street free if any spare spaces. Rooms were ok/fine, had to move from 1st one as towel rail and also toilet roll holder were both hanging off the walls. They upgraded us for free to king room. This was a good size although carpet showing slight signs...

The breakfast was freshly prepared and also had fruits and cereal bar as well. We had to order breakfast a day before and our table number was our room number. "Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"Location on the south side of city center. Quiet location and easy to access. Our room was clean and well set up. It had a refrigerator and coffee/tea station. Our only negative experience was the bathroom. No proper hooks for towels and just a half shield for the shower, resulting in water all over the floor. This is a safety issue as it is very easy to slip. The breakfast buffet was well set up with lots of tables and options to choose from. "
