10/10 for this gorgeous Boutique Retreat

We loved staying at Aylstone Boutique Retreat, and we would most definitely recommend it to friends and family, and if we were ever staying in Martinborough again we would choose to stay here

Really comfortable and well appointed room. Set in a nice and quiet garden area the room felt cosy and homely. Hotel is Situated close to the wineries with about Poppies and ATA Ranga down the road. Good location to ride a bicycle to the wineries

Vineyard views and charming accomodations

We enjoyed our stay with charming decor and lovely vineyard views. Everything was top notch, plush towels, robes, snacks to go with our wine, outdoor seating with vineyard views. The bakery loaf of bread and toaster and coffee provided breakfast when combined with yogurts purchased in the grocery on the square. Martinborough is a cute town with great choice of restaurants and wineries.

Stunning choice for Martinborough

The photos don't do the boutique hotel justice! The setting was gorgeous, the room was the best hotel room we have ever stayed and when we come back to Martinborough we will always pick Alystone first. Couldn't be happier and it's only an easy thirteen minute stroll into the town square.

Fabulous boutique hotel

This property is a little piece of heaven located in the middle of the vineyards. Gorgeous rooms, generous offerings, friendly staff. Highly recommend it!!

Alystone is the perfect escape

Alystone is a well maintained high standard establishment that’s perfect for a luxury get away in Martinborough. We walked into the township and to nearby wineries. The room is well equipped and very comfortable. Staff are lovely and helpful. We’ll be going back!

Good quality and reasonable value for money. Would stay here again. Note that the reception is not full time and they only let people book in between 3pm and 6pm. The person with this role turned up promptly. 8)

Cozy wine retreat!

A lovely B and B type accommodation in the middle of beautiful martinborough wine country. Our room was on the second floor after a short walk on a gravel floor - might be a little challenging if you have big suitcases like we did - not easy to roll over the gravel or carry up a flight of stairs. The room was small but very charming. Bathroom was efficient. Hostess provided instant coffee / tea / hot chocolate in the room as well as fresh bread for toast and chocolates. Room had a lovely view of the adjacent winery. We enjoyed our time there, heated floor and blanket in the bed was a nice cozy surprise !

Die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Wir hatten eine Terasse, die direkt in den Garten führte mit Blick auf die Weinberge. Zum Frühstück gab es nur ein kleines Brot, Butter und Marmelade auf dem Zimmer. Da wir nach 18Uhr anreisten, war die Rezeption nicht mehr besetzt. Wir fanden aber einen herzlichen Willkommensbrief vor. Schade war leider, dass wir weder während unseres Aufenthaltes von zwei Tagen noch zum Checkout am Abreisetag irgend jemanden zu Gesicht bekamen.

overall a good place to stay - comfortable walking distance to many of Martinborough's vineyards and to the village itself. The room was very well appointed and comfortable; but the experience was dampened - literally - by a design problem in the bathroom which meant that hot air condensed overnight and then 'rained' on the occupants for much of the following morning; and puddled on the floor. If this can be fixed the 'rating' of the experience would be considerably increased, but until it is, it does really interfere with the otherwise delightful amenity of the resort.
