Independent Lower Manhattan hotels

"My visit was for four days and everything was more than satisfactory. My room, as well as the lobbies and elevators, were very clean and the hotel staff did an excellent job in cleaning my room each day. I have stayed at this hotel on prior occasions and have always had good experiences. In addition, the hotel staff helped me quickly locate another room when my original room was so isolated (I always ask for a quiet room) that my cell phone and text messages were not getting through! I was literally able to make the room change in just a few minutes and my cell phone service worked perfectly in the new room. There were no additional charges related to the room change, and the final bill was exactly the amount indicated by Hotels.com "

"Had an awesome stay at Public. It’s in such a great location and the hotel has lots of amenities. Its a little noisy at night but thats pretty much anywhere in New York. Definitely will stay here again on future trips "

"We (my adult son, adult daughter, and I) loved the Moxy. The security of using the room key to access the elevators to our floor made us feel very safe. The staff and doormen were friendly and answered the questions we had. We had a quick bite to eat in the lower level dining room, and the food and service were great. My only complaint was the lack of our room being cleaned in a timely manner. We arrived on a Thurs. afternoon, we were out of the room from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Fri. to return to our room without the beds being made and no fresh towels. When we asked the front desk to have our room cleaned, we were told someone would be coming up; after 45 mins., I searched the hall and was to grab a cleaning person to get clean towels as we had a time commitment for an evening wedding. No one cleaned the room after that, and the used towels were now piling up. We did receive maid service on Saturday. This is my only complaint."
