Hotel Indigo is a good lodging option if:
- You'd like a spacious room - we are a family of four with two kids and we had enough space to comfortably move around the room. NYC hotels are notoriously small but the rooms here are adequate.
- You want to stay off the mid-town beaten path; Hotel Indigo is located near major train stops (F and J), surrounded by food options (try Johnny's Pizza!), and it's 20 min away from the city, but close enough that you can easily walk to and through East and West Villages.
- Loud club music doesn't phase you or you're a deep sleeper and sleep like a rock.
Don't stay here if you want sleep at the end of long days.
The hotel has a bar called Mr. Purple on the 15th floor. On Fridays and Saturdays, the sound and music thumps so loudly that it cascades to each floor.
That's all to say if your'e stay includes either or both of these days, request a room furthest away from the elevator. This helps a lot. As will ear plugs - bring them! The hotel does not provide any.
However, also request a room that doesn't face the streets as the street sounds will keep you up.
I recognize this sounds picky, but believe me when I say that noise until 4am feels brutal when you just want to sleep.
But hey this is NYC and city sounds are expected.
Overall, the stay was fine given we were away until late night.
If sleepless nights don't affect you, Hotel Indigo is a good hotel option.
