"Arrived late on the check in date but was greeted with tea time even though it was after tea time session. stay was excellent with clean and quiet bedroom. breakfast was great as well with mixture of local and western food. overall a great stay within a great location. things to improve: cant lock toilet door, and the sliding door is noisy. parking is also inconvenient."

"It was an absolute privilege to stay at Muntri Mews for 3 nights. The room we were appointed was stunning (77D) with a four poster bed (very comfortable) and a lovely large, squishy sofa that was perfect to relax on. We were one skip away jump away from the cafe which served us a delicious breakfast from the menu each morning, which included a glass of fresh orange juice and hot drink of your choice. "When we checked in we do not check on the access card because we expected it to work. But we went out and came back at 12:30am and we cannot enter. We called the front desk and no answer. We knocked on the door, hopefully someone could hear us but no one came down to open the door for us. We waited for about 30- 40 mins. Then, what can we do? "Glad I chose to stay here. My room was spacious, cool, and very comfortable. The noise from the street is significant but thankfully it’s quiet at night. The ambiance is unique. The staff is genuinely kind. But they need to break out the paint brushes because some surfaces, especially in the bathrooms, are pretty funky. I’ve stayed at campgrounds and hostels with nicer, hotter, showers :) "

"Good hotel and nice location. The room is big and I like the free breakfast too. Within walking distance to many eatery and it’s in the UNESCO area so nice to walk around The room comes with a big king size bed,chairs, table, wardrobe and coffee tea making facility. Downside is not many channels to choose from, the bed is a little hard and room is very dusty. When I go into my bed, I can see lots of dust flying around. Bathroom and amenities are good. AC is good and cold. Overall a good hotel...

"We are 2 senior adults from Australia who recently stayed 4 nights at Areca Hotel, Penang. The location was very central and easy to find. The rooms were spacious and clean. The shower was hot and plenty of water. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here."
