"We loved this hotel so much. The people running the hotel are all so kind and personable. There is a slight language barrier but it was not a problem at all. "This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it. "

"Staff and service great! A little overpriced for the rooms and unless you can book the special rooms the pictures can be deceiving! We were definitely not wowed by our room! Onsens were okay but nothing to brag about! And you have to pay extra to use the onsens … dinner at restaurants was great quality but overpriced! The reviews all show it to be very luxurious but it’s just a normal hotel….staff was very helpful and accommodating but the area is quite boring! "

"I absolutely loved this ryokan. The pictures online do not do it justice; the property is even better in person. The staff were very welcoming. The meals were amazing. The property was bigger than I thought it would be. The setting was peaceful. It was exactly what I was looking for. My only recommendation is that the shuttle from the train station should have a sign with the name of the property. "
