The staff are excellent but this hotel is a bit tired. Our room had no functioning air conditioning and was too hot for comfort, even when it wasn’t that hot outside.

Bad price-to-quality ratio

My primary concern is the cigarette smoke odor in the hotel, and the breakfast provided was inadequate, consisting of only bread, a banana, and coffee. the price-to-quality ratio of the hotel is poor.

We wanted a hotel in Old Town so we booked The Calvy. It looks much better in photos than it actually is. It's older and kind of worn. But the staff was amazing! Let us store our luggage when we arrived then let us check in at noon. The room was large with 5 twin beds which fit our needs. I'd book it again but not in the summer. No AC. We did have two portable fans but the night we stayed it was very warm ... well hot. I can't say enough about the amazing, friendly, helpful staff. When they learned we needed a taxi at 7:00 am they prepared breakfast 30 minutes early so we could eat. Great breakfast. So yes, I'd stay at The Calvy again but not during the summer.

Enklare hotell med bra läge

Mysigt, lite äldre hotell med bra läge i stan. Vi fick ett mycket fint familjerum med snedtak, kylskåp, vattenkokare, mikro och badkar. Mycket nöjda med rummet. Frukosten var ganska enkel och bestod främst av bröd och några pålägg.

Location is very good. It is clean. Rooms are spacious but old dated, small bathroom. Good breakfast. Restaurant is nice.

It’s not like what’s advertised but it’s alright as we are out the whole day. We were not informed about small details like free transportation and the free breakfast. Hopefully they can improve on their hospitality and customer service.

Nice reception staff but poorly maintained

The staff at the reception was very nice but the hotel in general was poorly maintained. The door of our room was broken, a lot of hair on the linen, strong smell of cigarettes in corridor and hotel room, knocking on the door at 10am before normal check out time, poor breakfast options...

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok. NO air conditioning. The sign at the front desk says that we can get a portable AC unit for extra 10 francs per night. We agreed and asked for it to be installed. It was never installed even when we asked for it multiple times. It was extremely hot and very difficult to sleep at night when you are soaked in sweat

We stayed in a room that could sleep 5 people comfortable size wise. However the beds were awful and the air unit was sub par by far. Especially because it was so nice outside but we couldn’t open the windows because of the bugs. The bathroom was quite small and almost didn’t feel clean. The staff was OK but not welcoming. Language was a barrier for sure. Also it was a good location close to many things to see/do.

Location is great - jet d’eau is only about 12 min walk (caution on windy days it will not be functioning!). For UN/Red Cross/broken chair - all about 25 mins by public transport but this is very close to the hotel (they also give you a free travel card for your stay). The room is basic and clean, but the walls are paper thin - I could hear the guy snoring in the next room! And the beds are rock hard - deff not a comfortable nights rest! Also a double room is 2 single beds pushed together which will slowly start to move apart whilst you lie on them!

가성비는 괜찮은 호텔 그러나 전시장과는 거리가 멀다

방도 넓고 깨끗하고 냉장고에 전자렌지가 있기 때문에 간단한 음식을 저장하거나 조리할 수도 있어서 좋았습니다. 아침 조식이 단조롭기는 하지만 제네바 물가를 생각하면 괜찮은 수준이었으며 생각보다 크루아상이 매우 맛있었습니다! 한국인 종업원분도 친절하셨고, 대표로 추정되시는 분도 친절했습니다. 호텔 가격도 제네바치고는 저렴한 편이었습니다. 다만, 단점을 얘기하자면 전시회장을 방문하기 위해 예약한 숙소치고는 Palexpo에서 멀었고 (대중교통 이용 40-45분 정도), 시설이 약간 오래 되었습니다
