"Inside was fairly clean. The outside could use a power spray cleaning at least every week from the smell of urine. Luggage Staff was extremely helpful. Check-in Staff that helped me could be more friendly to encourage customers to come back. Overall stay was okay to good."

It’s is a good area to get quickly from one side of town to the next. The neighborhood is what most of SF is, experiencing homelessness so be cautious in the evening. Great food spots in the area. Over all, we enjoyed our stay!"

"For a property in the middle of the city in an older part of the city and right in the heart of Chinatown, this property is awesome. But it’s missing a lot of the amenities that Hilton’s are known for. The finishes are not as high end, the ac is not updated (found out they are just window boxes like found in cheap hotels that leak air), no room service, and smaller bathrooms. Being in the heart of a busy city and having the open air conditioner means you can hear the cars and people and planes...

"Dated , dirty , focused on monetization and not on guest experience. But this may be the trend in union square, all these places are old and maintained enough to keep going. I think for more luxurious , guest oriented experience , there are other areas of San Francisco , but are pricier as expected. So I guess for the money this place wasn’t horrible."

"Common pantry for free coffee and food warming. Toaster av too. Good location to eating places (American, Chinese, Japanese, Thai cuisines) and shopping (Macy, shopping Mall, Nieman Marcus,etc.). Bus stop & Tramcar stop is nearby. And the street car end stop is just on the next street. But there are many homeless people around the streets. "

"Hotel was perfectly fine, although the open bathroom concept may deter some - I don’t recall seeing this in photos or descriptions. Staff was super nice and helpful when we needed them. What does need to be stated is the safety factor - it is surrounded by homeless and drug addicts. We reserved a parking garage a few blocks away on Eddy and we literally walked through urine and active drug use happening on the sidewalks - syringes being held like cigarettes. "The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The only issue I had with the room is that the bathroom mirror is so old, some of the silver backing is showing through. The beds were very comfortable. Alicia at the bar was also great helping me come up with ideas to spend the last day in SF with my daughter."

That aside, the hotel is very nice, with a nice happening feel and lots to do in the lobby, making it a great place to hang out.The location of the hotel is ideal. "The location is excellent. We were able to walk to Pier 39, and there were fun events happening nearby over the weekend, so we had a really enjoyable time. My kids especially loved the s’mores kit we received as a welcome gift.
