"Parking was too expensive"

"The building is beautiful and remodeled with lots of interesting touches. However, this hotel is by no means family friendly. I was traveling with my 12 year old son. The lobby isn’t really a lobby but a neighboring restaurant that may or may not be open at advertised times. The pool is part of a rooftop bar that ‘allows’ hotel guests under 21 only from noon to 7. "The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. It is up in the hills a bit. There was a minivan shuttle that went from the hotel to the city center. The shuttle also picked us up from the port to take us to the hotel. The staff gave us recommendations for restaurants and guidance for hiking. There was also a ping pong table, which was fun to have. There are a variety of snacks available in the lobby for purchase. The rooms had multiple USB outlets for charging electronics. "PROS: * Location walking distance to major attractions * Hotel Staff were very friendly * Room was nice and bed was soft CONS: * Parking - valet $60 per day but parking garage $25 per entry and the machines did not work charging people double if they dont check their banking accounts. Horrible and there is no phone signal in the garage to check accounts. This seems like a scam the parking garage is running. * Windows in room were filthy on the outside, obstructing the view."

"Beware the room is clean amd ok for you to get thru the nite. Lobby area looks like the year i was born and I am 40 plus they really can invest in a better seating area. The ride on thier shuttle is $10.00 per person and you better pay it . And when you check out they charge $5.00 ,per piece of luggage to hold which is insane. I could not wait to check out the next morning. Staff is great but hotel charge will rapes your pockets"

"The hotel property is very run down. Our first room smelled like cigarettes upon entry. We asked for another room and this second room smelled a lot better but was still not great. The cleaning staff had left a used cleaning glove on the floor. The floors were also not very clean. Overall would not return. Property also charges $40 a night for parking onsite. Pros: Location is great and walkable to old town."

"This hotel was super close and close to everything we wanted to see. Universal. Hollywood sign. Holly wood walk of fame. The pool was super cute and clean and big. The hotel was clean and staff were amazing 10/10 would stay here again and again."
