"To start with, our room was not ready when we got to the hotel and it was check-in time. If the maid was just finishing up that would be fine, but the room was wide open, the bed unmade, dirty towels everywhere, and no one in or around the room. It made me flashback to a time I tried to rent a room in another city and was told I would need to change the sheets myself. Yikes! I went back to the office and the desk clerk didn't know where the cleaning person was. I asked if they had another room...

"First the hotel is in a gas station parking lot!!!! Like open the door and someone is pumping gas 25 yards away. The room has all kinds of problems from the dried up water leak to the holes in the walls around the tv, burns on all the furniture, the ice machine is outside and some homeless guy was just filling up a jug with ice at 10 at night"

"We.arrived earlier than check-in time (approx. 1.5 hours early), however, when I went to the counter to ask what time, the friendly staff member offered to check us in, no extra charge. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and a shopping center. The room was very spacious and clean. The complimentary breakfast hours allow for plenty of time so you don't feel rushed to wake up early, and there is plenty of options, and was kept stocked and clean. "This place was the perfect location for our visit to Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row. Free parking and free breakfast was wonderful, it’s hard to find good hotels that offer both. When I checked in I was tired and having a stressful day but the staff was kind, professional and helped turn the day around for us. The rooms were clean, the free breakfast was good and it was in walking distance or a short drive to everything we were boating. We will definitely return next visit to Monterey."
