The rooms were clean and spacious. The shower was far roomier than in most other hotels. Every staff member with whom I had contact was helpful, friendly and eager to help. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay when you’re in Monterey. I was traveling for work. Their breakfast is better than your average Holiday Inn express the complementary glass of wine at night is among us too. Will definitely return.

We stayed here for the Monterey Half Marathon and it was a good price and walkable to the starting point. Also walkable to the restaurants, so we appreciated that. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the property fully but they did serve breakfast and had happy hour.

Very convenient location. Our room was on the second floor so had to lug suitcases up the stairs, but we managed. Breakfast was adequate. They had a nice outdoor seating area with a outdoor fireplace where we enjoyed a free glass of wine every night. Comfy beds.

Highly recommend! Super comfy bedding, quality toiletries, extremely clean. The breakfast selection changed a little everyday and was average - it included scrambled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, fresh fruit. Some days they added sausage, hash brown potatoes and pancakes. Of course many juices, a variety of milks, coffees and teas. The bar was well stocked too. Walkable area and very safe area.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Abrego! We got a great price and loved our room, which included a fireplace and patio. The free breakfast was a huge plus and especially helpful on mornings when we had early excursions planned. The complimentary glass of wine each evening was also such a pleasant bonus! We were thrilled that our room was ready at 2:00 p.m., allowing us to check in early, and we were also able to get a 1:00 p.m. checkout, which we really appreciated. Between the great value, comfortable room, convenient amenities, and excellent service, Hotel Abrego has definitely become our go-to hotel in Monterey. We had a great experience and will absolutely be back!

We requested for two rooms to be next to each other. We were given two rooms with the numbers sequence next to each other but in reality they were actually located at a different section, which was far from each other. Apparently, the staffs were not familiar with the room locations. I’d say it’s more like a motel/inn rather than a hotel. Breakfast with very limited selections, which was understandable because it was complimentary (included in the resort fees). Good enough for a morning coffee before morning activities. The location is off strip but is convenient for a short drive to the wharf.

My friend and I arrived really late, like 11:50pm. The property was easy to find, quiet, and there were a few parking spaces left behind the building inside the hotel property. There was a little issue but the staff addressed it super professionally and kindly. The bath robes were a huge plus and water pressure amazing!! Cute working fireplace made it cozy. The breakfast was just delicious!!! I don’t care for free breakfast because they tend to be all sugar and plastic but they really had it down. AMAZING sausages, fluffy scrambled eggs with pepper jack cheese on top and breakfast potatoes!! It was like we were at a brunch restaurant and REAL silverware showed care for the guests and the environment. It was a girls trip after we started empty nesting and this hotel helped the start of our trip on the right foot. Definitely visit again.
