"This place is old, dated and small. Clean but smelled a little because of its age and use. We had prepaid for the one night stay but they insisted on charging our card a $150 deposit! I asked why. Just to make sure we didn’t trash our room. We are an elderly couple. We are not about to trash their room. They said don’t worry, “most people get back their deposit.” Haven’t checked my card yet but they better have returned the deposit. That’s what you get when you stay at small, local and...

"Cute from the outside and pretty clean but the rooms and the beds, were very small. The walls were paper thin and the AC noisy. The pillows were uncomfortable and overall none of us got a good nights sleep. We spent 8 nights on a CA roadtrip and unfortunately this hotel was the one we couldn’t wait to leave."

"I absolutely love this little inn. It was so quiet and relaxing. The view is stunning, the staff is friendly, and the rooms were well kept. The beds could be a little more comfortable, but they were decent enough that I could sleep through the night. The little dining room for breakfast had the best view of the ocean. "Staff at check in was very friendly. Room was clean. Hotel was pretty old but the room was remodeled at some point. Price was good for Monterey and it was close to downtown. Stayed one night only while driving up the coast. The cathedral was a couple min walk for me to attend morning Mass so that was a plus."
