Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay

"We had a great experience at the Portola. When we pulled up we were greeted by a valet who offered to assist with unloading our luggage and bringing it up to the room for us. We got checked in and then to our room. The room was very nice and clean. The beds were super comfortable, which is hard to find these days at most hotels! We were only there one night, but had a great stay! Would definitely stay here again for the convenience to the downtown area as well as the pier."

"The staff were very welcoming at this facility, while the rooms had some cleanliness issues, such as a dirty carpet, dirt on my bedsheets, and no screens to block insects from entering through the windows, the room was cozy and billed at an affordable price. If the rates for this hotel stay consistent, I would actually find myself staying here once more, but if the aspects of the room I listed above are dealbreakers for you then do try and find a more mainstream hotel to stay with. Overall, they treated me with respect and provided plenty of bathroom amenities such as soaps, towels, cups, moisturizer and a hair dryer to make my stay comfortable."

"Attempting to watch the major networks was a bust. The TV and remote seem to ignore each other. Stations display a picture sometime and other times it was a garbled sound that was the full extent of what was on the TV. Parking is extra. But they add a tax on the parking. So, it increases the cost to park in the hotel lot. There is no off-street parking. This was not covered in the show of the full cost of the stay my Hotel.com."

"We really enjoyed the personal attention and “unplugged” stay at the Martine Inn. Florida was so welcoming when we checked in and out. The breakfast included was delicious and served with beautiful place settings and silver service, with a view of the ocean. The hotel is located an easy walk from the Aquarium and Cannery Row. And going to the 17 mile drive and Carmel was so easy from the hotel. It’s a great couples’ weekend away destination!"
