"The beach view was wonderful even though partially blocked by some buildings on the beach. I loved sleeping with the door open to hear the sounds of the ocean! The hotel room was beautiful and the bathroom was fabulous and luxurious. The Continental Breakfast served to the room was a wonderful treat! Cookies in the lobby were a nice touch. "The property is a hidden gem. Within walking distance to just about anything needed. Super clean. I made this reservation for a young couple visiting and, they claimed they didn't even use their car! Trader Joe's half a block, coffee, downtown Monterey with all its charm. I would suggest staying there any time a visitor comes to town and we run out of room. Thank you, Vivian Maraccini"

"I loved the fire place and how the room door opened into the patio. Very beautiful! Although the shower was gorgeous, we did not like the water pressure in the shower. The pressure was lite. Also, the handicapped parking was situated in the middle of the entrance and exit of the property and was inconvenient. We were also given the wrong time for breakfast. Overall, we give this place 3.5 stars out of 5."

"This place is old, dated and small. Clean but smelled a little because of its age and use. We had prepaid for the one night stay but they insisted on charging our card a $150 deposit! I asked why. Just to make sure we didn’t trash our room. We are an elderly couple. We are not about to trash their room. "Nicely appointed hotel. Counter staff helpful and friendly. The outside pool was nice, but small, and had quite a few leaves floating around. We went in the evening, so maybe it is only cleaned/checked once a day."

"This place was the perfect location for our visit to Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row. Free parking and free breakfast was wonderful, it’s hard to find good hotels that offer both. When I checked in I was tired and having a stressful day but the staff was kind, professional and helped turn the day around for us. The rooms were clean, the free breakfast was good and it was in walking distance or a short drive to everything we were boating. We will definitely return next visit to Monterey."

"The room wasn't very spacious, but it was clean, I like that the flooring wasn't carpet. Beds were comfortable. Staff was helpful, quiet and respectful. There is a large shopping center accross the street (which we only discovered on our last day, unfortunatly), Hotel conveniently located close to Carmel and Monterey. Comparing location, availability and rates with other nearby hotels, I'd stay there again when visiting the area."
