This is a small 2 room flat built out of the bottom corner of a detached family house on a fairly busy road in a Cambridge suburb. The 'suite' is minimal in size, equipment and comfort. The main bedroom has two small singles made into a double bed, with a 'wardrobe rail' stuck on a wall for clothes. No other drawers, and particularly annoying was the lack of any bedside table or drawers (which could just have been fitted in) so nothing to rest phones/books/cup of tea on apart from the floor. The kitchen had an odd assortment of pots/crockery etc but I had to ask for even a bread/chopping board. The bathroom is a narrow cupboard with a shower that has a scant 1 cm deep tray, so often leaked onto the floor, and a 1 litre sink, so rather difficult to wash/shave in.
The sitting room had a strange and rather pointless set of box shelves, a small round tin coffee table and a square fabric stool just where you wanted a proper coffee table. The worst thing about the property was the stained and uncomfortable sofa bed. It looked as though someone had 'wet the bed', the padding had dissappeared and the springs poked through as you sat down. My elderly mother described the way the springs and the wooden frame poked into her all night as the most excruciating sleep she has ever had. Even had the sofa been new (or the one in the picture) the back and the seat were too different to have made a successful bed. You can only park round the corner, free on weekends and evenings.
