Wonderful B and B!!

This was a delightful, B and B. The food was wonderful as was the service including great pianist! Lots of history and plenty of nice little touches making it a lovely time!

Lovely Inn

This B and B was wonderful. The property was warm and quaint. Perfect for relaxing. The hosts were very kind and made you feel at home. We loved our 2 night stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at The Ira Allen House! Our host, Michael, was very warm and welcoming. His attention to detail around cleanliness, decor and delicious breakasts were happily noted. We'll be back to visit this quaint B & B and spend time in the lovely town of Manchester.

Beautiful old home with lots of historic charm. Plenty of spots to sit, relax and read in front of the gas fireplace or stove. Great breakfasts, all day coffee and tea bar and homemade cookies. Our room was big and comfortable, lots of natural light, well appointed with a gas stove, couch and sitting area. The only drawbacks were the shower was a little small and if you have trouble with stairs, this Inn would be challenging. Also Kevin was very helpful in making dinner plans and suggestions for local sites.

A marvelous place that immersed us in early US history and drew up happy childhood memories of my grandparents' home. Mike and Kevin were the epitome of hospitality; their love of the inn was reflected in everything they did to make our stay an outstanding experience.

What a wonderful surprise. We hoped to get a nice B&B for three nights. In stead we had 3 nights of comfort and amazing breakfasts with warm Vermont charm. We are looking forward to our next trip back, hopefully next summer!

We felt at home the minute we walked through the door thanks to Michael and the coziness of the Inn. There was a fire in the fireplace and cookies on the table. Our accommodations were lovely and breakfast the next day, made by Kevin with many local ingredients, was delicious! Already thinking about excuses to come back!

A Delightful Stay

The Ira Allen House offers comfortable accommodations that are more “homey” than any hotel. From the 200-year-old charm of the house to the wonderful innkeepers, Michael and Kevin, every aspect of our stay was exceptional. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast featured ingredients from local farms whenever possible. We will certainly be back, and we highly recommend the Ira Allen House to all who may be seeking a place to stay while traveling to the Manchester, Vermont Area.

The house looks like it’s been yelled from a postcard. Sat against the mountains. So glad I picked this place to stay on my trip through Vermont. Authentic Vermont hospitality. It’s a home away from home and you’re looked after like family. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotlessly neat. Would be back in a heartbeat.

A Delightful Place to Stay in Southwestern Vermont

The inn is old and doesn't offer the luxury of other inns and B&Bs in the area. But it was still a wonderful place to stay at a very good value. Michael, the owner, could not have been more attentive to our needs. He made a fantastic breakfast for us every day (as well as scrumptious cookies) that exceeded in both quality and quantity what one typically gets from more expensive inns & B&Bs. In addition, the room and bed were very comfortable and the shower was perfect. The inn was a short drive from Manchester and many good restaurants. I definitely recommend it.
