"Small hotel located close to Otaru canal and the main shopping street. We had a triple room. Toilet and shower area are separated. Can be inconvenient in the middle of the night if need to use the toilet and then go to shower/basin area to wash hands. Many sashimi shops along the shopping street but most shops close early, by 6pm, some by 4pm. Hotel has limited paid onsite parking lots located in front of hotel. Next to hotel is Times parking but slightly more expensive. If not having breakfast in hotel, we found a Komeda coffee place about 7 mins walk away, opens from 7am. There is a Cosmos pump station and a Family Mart opposite the hotel."

"We stay here every few years and generally have good experiences. In the past it was packed with Chinese tourists but this time there were noticeably fewer. There was a junior high trip which made dinner/breakfast a little more chaotic but I’ve chaperoned that type of trip before and didn’t notice the kids were badly behaved or anything. The food was delicious and the room, while old, was clean. My biggest complaint is with the pools. One was closed and the other one limits the people that use almost all the slides and such to kids 120 cm and under. My 11 year old was pretty bored with nothing to do at the pool. They also used to have free rafts to float on, but no more. Some of the onsen were also under construction but there was still plenty of space. Could have dealt without the old Chinese ladies’s manners in the onsen but I don’t blame the hotel for that. Enjoyed checking out Shiroito waterfall (didn’t realize how close it was). Overall a good stay but not sure we will be back since next time my 7 year old will also be too big for all the pool activities. Price has also increased a lot in the past few years."

"The worst and most uncomfortable hotel I have ever stayed at in Japan. The carpets and curtains were extremely dirty, with visible mould on both the curtains and in the shower room. Considering the price of hotels in Japan, this hotel was not particularly cheap either, especially as breakfast was not included. I had the worst two nights of sleep during my stay here."
