The staff was friendly and courteous, but the hotel was in bad need of an update. Stained carpets in the hallways and rooms (we had 3), cracked and stained sinks in the rooms, and scuffs on the walls. It was great, room was nice. People are nice. I got stuck on the carpark opposite from the snowstorm, the guys/girls at the reception came and tried to help me unstuck the car. There are only 2 washing machine/laundry though, so if you forgot to take the laundry out, they normally put out a card ...

Recently updated rooms, a little small but not too small. Breakfast is great and lots of parking onsite for a fee.

The place is wide and if you travel with children they can enjoy the bathtub and the spacious place.

The keg in the room, the hot tub on the balcony, and the snow make winkle village magical. We were also able to get a discount to the local ski area and we walked there

Fantastic
Nice view of canal though it’s very short. Interesting shops along the walking street. Great sweet cafes! The music box museum is more like souvenir shop. About a half day should be enough time to explore Otaru.
