"I have stayed at the Inn on Ferry before but it has been a while. I am a native Detroiter and highly attracted to the location. 50 years ago, my first apartment on my own was a few blocks away. The #1 advantage is the easy access to the Cultural Center. Sometimes I come by train and am without a car. That was the case this time around. This location is one of the few where that is not a liability, especially since I brought a folding bike with me.
The beds are comfy, nice shower, plenty of spaces to unwind, and a decent breakfast. I love the aesthetic of the place.
My only issue is beyond the management's control. The inn is close to Woodward. It is summer and it was a weekend. Excessively loud motorcycles and cars with modified mufflers make for a noisy night. Some of the backfiring and loud cars and motorcycles even made their way onto Ferry Street after midnight revving their engines and being as loud and obnoxious as possible. This is a sad national phenomenon that s becoming inescapable. The otherwise perfect location can be, unfortunately, pretty loud at night. "
