"We enjoyed our stay at EQ Kuala Lumpur. The property itself is stunning and our room was fantastic - spacious, modern and with a spectacular view of the Petronas and broader KLCC skyline. The pool on Level 29 is also excellent, with ample space and also great views. The KLCC area surrounding has countless restaurant, shopping and transport options.
In-room dining options were relatively diverse and cater to all tastes. The fridge is stocked with a good array of essentials also, and was well stocked when room serviced.
Staff were very friendly, irrespective of whether they were front desk or cleaning rooms. It was evident they wanted to help our guests where they could. I was a little disappointed that a room upgrade was charged extra per night, as an Expedia Gold member who notified in advance I was planning a proposal on site. Of course the hotel was entitled to do so, but the courtesy has been extended in less exciting circumstances before.
Of note for travellers visting from Western countries: you will not be allowed to enter Sky 51 Bar unless all guests are 21. This may sound a minor footnote, but we could not go up with our 2-year old, even for photos. Dining options on site are also age restricted - only Kampachi and Bottega allowed kids under 12, with the former providing an underwhelming service in a relatively empty restaurant. The sound proofing of the hotel is also good, which will again be of use to most given the loud calls to prayer throughout each day."
