"Had an excellent one night stay. Nice view of ocean and Catalina Island. Frank is a very good host and always attentive. Nice clean room with everything you need for your comfort. "This has nothing to do with the owner although I'm not sure a room was even available for my arrival date based on my conversation with him. He was very accommodating and gave me access to the balcony to use. It is Expedia that gets the 1-star testing because of the way you handled things with me. I'm NEVER using you and won't recommend you to anyone who asks. "

"I felt comfortable, despite initial problem with my reservation through Expedia (which took 3 calls to resolve), and some construction noise. I stayed 4 nights in the 6bed dorm room. I miss the hostel dog Amazon, the most. It's a very basic hostel but staff/volunteers/owner/guests were very nice. There's a water shortage in Samana so no long hot showers, or even much water cold water due to weak water pressure. Wifi was intermittent at times. Breakfast was good, something different every...
