"We had marina/ocean bay views and a balcony. It was great to sit out there and hear the birds and sea lions. The rooms could use a bit of updating such as carpet and wall decor. "Room was lovely with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the garden. The property is historic, but the bathrooms have been remodeled, so are modern. The location is fantastic--easy walk to Fishermans Wharf, restaurants and historic sites, right in Old Town Monterey. Staff were lovely. The breakfast was fine. No room service or luxury hotel amenities, but to me the charm and historic ambiance more than make up for that. "
