"Overall, I had a great stay at the Fairmont Royal York and would definitely consider staying here again.
The hotel has a lot of character, and I think its age is part of its charm. At first glance, the guest rooms can feel a little dated compared to newer luxury hotels, but everything appeared to be well maintained and cared for. Rather than feeling outdated in a neglected way, the rooms felt like they reflected the hotel’s history and classic style without trying to completely modernize the property.
The lobby and common areas were particularly impressive and felt much more polished and luxurious. The other amenities were also great, and I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the hotel.
The staff were excellent throughout my stay and were especially helpful when I had an issue with my room. I arrived late the first night due to my flight and was initially placed in a room next to one of the elevators. Unfortunately, the noise was noticeable, but once I brought it to the staff’s attention, they were very accommodating and were able to move me to a different room for the remainder of my stay. I really appreciated how quickly and professionally they handled the situation.
The location is another major plus, especially for exploring Toronto and getting around the city. Overall, I think the Fairmont Royal York strikes a nice balance between historic character and modern comfort."
