Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

"Low price for this hotel is a trap. The staff was unprofessional and the check-in process took almost 1 hour because of a huge queue. We arrived around 3:30 PM and waited in line for 30 minutes. Then the staff told us our room was on the 2nd floor with stairs and asked if we wanted to upgrade instead. I agreed to upgrade and paid an additional $40. After that, they said the upgraded room was not ready and asked us to wait another 30 minutes. We waited until 4:30 PM, and when I checked again, they still said the room was not ready and asked us to wait another 30 minutes. Only after I requested a refund did they suddenly provide the room. To make things worse, the bedsheet had blood stains on it. I took pictures as proof. Overall, a very disappointing experience with poor customer service and cleanliness."

"Beautiful, clean room, and the view of the marina was wonderful. It was very expensive, and there were no other dining options except the downstairs restaurant, which was also expensive. Also, the room was kept too cool for me, and the thermostat never warmed. Even the hair dryer did not warm up!"

"This was the best hotel stay experience I have ever had. I typically stay at a Hilton branded hotel, so didn’t know what to expect at Pinnacle. They exceeded any and all expectations! First off, our cruise ship dropped us off at 10:30 in the morning. We brought our luggage to the hotel fully expecting to just see if we can leave it while we went to explore Vancouver. To my pleasant surprise they had a room ready for us to check into. This may not be possible for all guest but appreciate that the hotel staff at least made the effort to see if we can check in early. Other chains just tell you a time with no exceptions. Secondly, the Porter staff were so helpful and friendly. I didn’t know porters would be there to bring our luggage to the room. That was wonderful. Thank you! Third, their hotel restaurant served excellent food (P2B) and we were served by excellent waiting staff. If we ever make it to Vancouver again we’ll be staying at Pinnacle Hotel at Harbour Front!"
