"peaceful stay at the house of a local dutch lady who was very helpful and pleasent . the room was very basic and all i really needed as i was out most of the day of my 4 day visit . sezane has a lovley little dog called "pomy" which i hope is well xxx kisses from across the sea pomy . the area was fantasic as it was very close to the museum quarter , but you can only get tickets online to the VAN GOGH museum which i missed ill get there next time "
"Beautiful place to stay. I couldn’t quite get the air conditioning to work as i wanted but the weather was nice so it was bearable. A microwave in the room is not a bad idea. Overall clean, safe, lovely neighborhood to stay."

"Hotel is in a perfect canal side location convenient to the Nine Streets shopping area. The common areas are spacious and welcoming. The restaurant was a lovely space by the interior courtyard garden and the breakfasts were fantastic. The rooms are large enough (by European standards) with a very eclectic layout and decor. If you like design, you will really like the aesthetic of the hotel. And the staff was exceptionally helpful and cheerful. Overall a great experience. "
"We had a great stay and it was mainly due to the location and most of the staff . We could walk to many areas and also well connected to transportation. In general we were welcomed with a friendly smile and very helpful staff. I would normally give 5 stars for service except for the fact that the some of the staff at breakfast from Tuesday till our departure on Friday seemed unhappy and at times. One was even banging the covering for the buffet and coffee station. It’s was very off putting....
"Really enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel van de Vijsel. It's very convenient located close to the Vondrelpark, the Museumplein and the Leidseplein. The hotel is quiet with an excellent air conditioning system and comfortable bed. It was our wedding anniversary, so I ordered there special package of bubbly, chocolates, balloons and petals. My wife loved the surprise and the bubbly was a gorgeous Spanish Cava and the chocs were delicious. Well done Hotel van de Vijsel!"
"The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. Always very friendly. The rooms, at least the one we stayed in, was not very huge but was big enough that it was very comfortable. No A/C but that was not an issue even in 1st week of august. Nice breeze through the window and the street is extremely quiet.
Location is perfect. A few minutes walk from all the designer shops, museums and central area, primarily the section with antique shops and art galleries....
