"Although our stay was “okay” since we spent most of the day out and only returned in the evening, there were several aspects this time that we did not like. The room had a very strong moldy smell, which made it uncomfortable to be in. We understand that housekeeping is scheduled every third day, but the service was still lacking. The person in charge of changing the trash bags never restocked the coffee supplies, nor did they replenish shampoo, conditioner, or soap. They only replaced the large towels, while the medium and small ones were taken away and not replaced. Additionally, the pool area (including the gardens and surrounding spaces) was poorly maintained. There was even trash left on the chair designated for people with disabilities. Considering the environment, this kind of neglect can become a safety risk, especially with the plants and outdoor areas not being properly cared for. On a positive note, the front desk staff were very kind and attentive, and the breakfast was good."

"We have always gone to mystic dunes for many years and first year we have ever had to call security twice. Nose level around our place was crazy . One night until 2:30 am and another night folks fighting in there room and a dog barking for hours. No one at desk seem to care because we booked through Expedia . All they said was “ Oh wow that’s to bad” we were very disappointed in that."

" We stayed at Malia for our anniversary and had a great weekend there. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a bigger room, and they surprised me with chocolates and a balloon. We had dinner at the restaurant, and it was delicious. The next morning, we had breakfast, which was also delicious, and later enjoyed lunch by the pool. The service was 10 out of 10—excellent!"

"Misleading listing I booked this expecting a normal hotel/resort. It turned out to be a timeshare-style property, which I didn’t mind—but it should have been disclosed upfront. I called ahead to confirm a late arrival and was told my room would be ready. When I got there around 10–10:30 PM, the property was clearly at capacity. After waiting, I was told there was no room ready—even though I had just confirmed it. What really bothered me is they charged a $150 deposit before confirming a room was actually available. After another delay, they found a room—but it wasn’t what I booked. I reserved a large two-bedroom unit and instead got two separate one-bedroom units connected by a shared entry. They also said the room was recently remodeled. I don’t believe that—there was visible mold in the toilet. I even have photos. The bed was comfortable, but I was so exhausted it’s hard to judge fairly. Right after check-in, we were directed elsewhere for a parking pass and “gifts,” which felt like a timeshare pitch. I declined. The next day, I raised the issues with a different staff member. Everyone was polite, but there was no real resolution—I was told to take it up with Expedia. We paid for two nights but lost a big portion of the first day due to the delayed check-in. The room was livable but very basic—minimal towels, toiletries, and supplies. Overall: misleading listing, no room ready after confirmation, deposit charged without availability, and cleanliness issues."

"While we were only there for 1 night, it was a great place to stay. The rooms are amazing and it was perfect for any family. Both the bed and sofabed were amazingly comfortable. The ONLY downside is if you like a firmer pillow, bring one as I felt they were almost too soft."
