"We selected this hotel because of the price and location but it could have been better. It was just “meh”. The lobby was nice-ish but beyond that it felt dated and dirty. The pool needed to be cleaned, broken sun lounger was just shoved the corner and other chairs were in disrepair. Rooms and corridors just felt dingy. I’m sure the small windows contributed to this. The mattresses are hard and noisy; toiletries are difficult to pump out of bottles and no lotion provided. Water is scalding hot...

"I am not really sure why the reviews here so poorly match the state of the hotel. It’s run down and a more than a bit grubby. The staff are lovely and helpful and do their best to take care of you but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that the hotel needs some serious upkeep. "

"Great little historical place close to everything. But away from the crazy of bourbon. Parking across the street, a cvs and other stores super close. A short walk to Bourbon street and Jackson square. It rained all weekend we were there so we didn’t get to use the pool but it looked nice. Would definitely stay again!"

"You can't beat the location - on the edge of the Quarter, across the street from the streat car line, 3 blocks from Bourbon and the St. Charles street car, walkable to the art district. My only rub is that the property charges a "destination fee" which is really a cost that should be reflected in the room rate. For this "destination fee" you get $15 to spend each day at the hotel - which you have to spend and it doesn't roll over. I'm not a fan - it isn't transparent and should really be...
