"I am not really sure why the reviews here so poorly match the state of the hotel. It’s run down and a more than a bit grubby. The staff are lovely and helpful and do their best to take care of you but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that the hotel needs some serious upkeep. "

"First - I am a well traveled global road warrior - who spent years on the road and even slept in the ground (infantry grunt). I am hard to displease... Though I have never been in the French Quarter - or to NOLA at all for that matter - so I was not sure what to expect. The hotel is aged, locked up tight - and reasonable for the price.
