It was my first time in New Orleans. I came down for Mardi Gras. I was so excited, but when I got to the hotel, I was underwhelmed. The pictures aren’t quite accurate. And the hotel room was dirty and needs better maintenance. I was there for 4 days/3nights. On day 3, I woke up with 3 bites on my upper right thigh. The hotel was fully booked due to Mardi Gras, so I spent my last night sleeping on the chair. Checked out early, and got out of dodge. I plan to come back to New Orleans, but I wouldn’t stay there again.
Aside from bad to no/low maintenance, I loved the ladies at the check in. Melissa and especially Monique were lovely. Gave me great advice, suggestions, and were just so welcoming. The buffet breakfast at their restaurant was pretty good also. It’s not in the French Quarter, but it was walkable. I live in a city where we walk everywhere, so that wasn’t an issue for me. From the hotel to Jackson Square/Cafe Du Monde was a leisurely 20 minute walk for me.
Besides missing cabinet doors, huge stained curtains, dirty showers, elevators sounding like they’re on their last leg, and possible critters taking a bite out of you, then it wasn’t horrible.
I only gave it 3 stars for the location, the lovely ladies at the front desk, and the food.
