"Pictures do not do this place justice. The garden view is amazing with visibility of lake lugano and the distant mountains. Such a beautiful hotel. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I loved the breakfast, it's simple but very tasty. I highly recommend this hotel"

"The room was clean. AC broken in room. Staff slow to respond to request regarding broken AC. Eventually brought in a window AC in which the door or window had to remain open to use. Uncomfortable process. The room hot/humid at night. Staff friendly/ language barrier with no effort made to understand. Halfway in, we were moved into a new room. Met manager last day, very helpful/friendly, but it was near end of stay. Beautiful views but not conveniently located. Would not recommend."

"The Mandarin Oriental this is not. This is a clean, well run, small European hotel, not new, but well maintained, with a very friendly and astonishingly multi-lingual staff. The clientele appeared to be well-to-do couples speaking French and German. The food in the restaurant was not flaming or foaming, but the lasagne made with fresh pasta was very nice, as was my glass of red wine. The hotel is within spitting distance of both Hertz and the train station. If you have reason to stay overnight...

"A hard review to write. I gave 5 stars in most areas. The service and the overall property was excellent but for the price we had some issues. The KEY to the room is a huge pain! You only get one key and if you lose it there is a $1000 Swiss franc fee to replace it and a minimum 3 hour wait. Two doors to go through so it is very inconvenient. While the room we had was very large with a bedroom plus a large kitchen/living space with two patios there was only one TV in the living room! No bedroom...
